Salesforce Inc. is a global cloud computing company headquartered in San Francisco, California. Though best known for its customer relationship management (CRM) product, Salesforce has also expanded into commercial applications of social networking through acquisition. As of 2015, it is one of the largest American cloud computing companies with a market capitalization of $40 billion, although the company has never turned a profit since its inception in 1999. It is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the S&P 500 index.
