Det f\u00f6rekommer mikroaggressioner hela tiden p\u00e5 teknikf\u00f6retagens kontor - det som \u00e4r frustrerande med detta \u00e4r att det ibland kan vara sv\u00e5rt att hitta eller p\u00e5tala.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Exempelvis f\u00e5r kvinnliga ingenj\u00f6rer 35% fler avslag p\u00e5 sin kod.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Och fr\u00e5n en anekdotisk synvinkel skulle ett annat exempel vara \u00f6k\u00e4nda riskkapitalbolag som h\u00e5ller fester som skulle g\u00f6ra kvinnor obekv\u00e4ma, \u00e4ven om det naturligtvis f\u00f6r m\u00e4n bara \u00e4r ett s\u00e4tt f\u00f6r dem att se om entrepren\u00f6rer kan \"h\u00e4nga\".<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Bristen p\u00e5 f\u00f6rebilder kan vara en annan faktor. M\u00e5nga marginaliserade m\u00e4nniskor, om inte alla p\u00e5 ett eller annat s\u00e4tt, socialiseras och utbildas p\u00e5 subtila s\u00e4tt under hela sitt liv f\u00f6r att tvivla p\u00e5 sig sj\u00e4lva (tack och lov hanteras detta av organisationer som <a href=\"https:\/\/endeavor.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Endeavor<\/a> - kolla in det!)<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Detta kan ofta yttra sig i form av \"Impostor Syndrome\", ett fenomen som beskriver k\u00e4nslan av att inte vara f\u00f6rtj\u00e4nt av sin framg\u00e5ng, att vara en \"bedragare\".<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Fenomenet drabbar kvinnor och minoriteter i oproportionerligt h\u00f6g grad, men i en f\u00f6retagskultur som uppmuntrar m\u00e4nniskor att s\u00e4lja id\u00e9er och bl\u00e5sa upp sitt v\u00e4rde \u00e4r detta problematiskt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image regular\"><picture><source srcset=\"https:\/\/d37oebn0w9ir6a.cloudfront.net\/account_481\/giphy12_c8a874a80d06cc3b4df802c5ab7e3c19.gif 1x\" media=\"(max-width: 768px)\"><\/source><source srcset=\"https:\/\/d37oebn0w9ir6a.cloudfront.net\/account_481\/giphy12_c8a874a80d06cc3b4df802c5ab7e3c19.gif 1x\" media=\"(min-width: 769px)\"><\/source><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/d37oebn0w9ir6a.cloudfront.net\/account_481\/giphy12_c8a874a80d06cc3b4df802c5ab7e3c19.gif\" alt=\"g\u00f6ra b\u00e4ttre\"><\/picture><\/figure>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Det finns naturligtvis ocks\u00e5 m\u00e5nga andra materiella och immateriella faktorer. En persons uppv\u00e4xt kan ha stor inverkan p\u00e5 hur han eller hon uppfattar sin karri\u00e4rv\u00e4g.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Till exempel kan n\u00e5got till synes harml\u00f6st som att ge dockor till unga flickor och Lego till unga pojkar ytterligare f\u00f6rst\u00e4rka f\u00f6r\u00e5ldrade k\u00f6nsroller. \ud83d\ude45\u200d\u2640\ufe0f<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Men med allt detta sagt, hur skulle teknikv\u00e4rlden se ut om den var mer diversifierad?<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Det ligger sanning i siffrorna<\/h2>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Ut\u00f6ver det uppenbara \"det \u00e4r r\u00e4tt sak att g\u00f6ra\"-t\u00e4nkandet att ha mer m\u00e5ngfald och representation i teknikv\u00e4rlden, \u00e4r det ocks\u00e5 bara bra aff\u00e4rsm\u00e4ssigt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">En <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mckinsey.com\/business-functions\/organization\/our-insights\/why-diversity-matters\">studie fr\u00e5n McKinsey &amp; Company<\/a><\/u> visade att f\u00f6retag i den \u00f6vre kvartilen f\u00f6r k\u00f6n eller ras och etnisk m\u00e5ngfald \u00e4r \"mer ben\u00e4gna att ha finansiell avkastning \u00f6ver sina nationella branschmedianer\".<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Och den nedre kvartilen av dessa dimensioner? De \u00e4r statistiskt sett mindre ben\u00e4gna att uppn\u00e5 denna avkastning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image regular\"><picture><source srcset=\"https:\/\/d37oebn0w9ir6a.cloudfront.net\/account_481\/giphy13_0b2019ad95917f74d711b3df32104145.gif 1x\" media=\"(max-width: 768px)\"><\/source><source srcset=\"https:\/\/d37oebn0w9ir6a.cloudfront.net\/account_481\/giphy13_0b2019ad95917f74d711b3df32104145.gif 1x\" media=\"(min-width: 769px)\"><\/source><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/d37oebn0w9ir6a.cloudfront.net\/account_481\/giphy13_0b2019ad95917f74d711b3df32104145.gif\" alt=\"dwight s\u00e4ger: &quot;det \u00e4r sant&quot;\" width=\"488\" height=\"275\"><\/picture><\/figure>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">I rapporten konstateras att \"m\u00e5ngfald f\u00f6rmodligen \u00e4r en konkurrensfaktor som \u00f6ver tid f\u00f6rskjuter marknadsandelar till f\u00f6retag med st\u00f6rre m\u00e5ngfald\".<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Ur ekonomisk synvinkel, enligt <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/geristengel\/2016\/04\/13\/is-change-in-the-wind-for-women-entrepreneurs-raising-capital\/#3d6e2d315eaf\">Forbes<\/a><\/u>, kan kvinnliga teknikentrepren\u00f6rer generera 20% mer int\u00e4kter \u00e4n sina manliga motsvarigheter - trots att de startar sina f\u00f6retag med 50% mindre kapital. \ud83d\udcaa<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Dessutom ber\u00e4knar <u>Europeiska kommissionen<\/u> att EU:s BNP skulle kunna \u00f6ka med 16 miljarder euro per \u00e5r om kvinnor som arbetar med teknik inkluderades ytterligare.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Siffrorna \u00e4r \u00e4nnu mer otroliga i USA. I <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.intel.com\/content\/www\/us\/en\/diversity\/decoding-diversity-report.html\">Intels rapport Decoding Diversity<\/a><\/u> drog de slutsatsen, som vi redan har sett, att m\u00e5ngfald leder till h\u00f6gre int\u00e4kter, vinster och marknadsv\u00e4rde.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image regular\"><picture><source srcset=\"https:\/\/d2ijz6o5xay1xq.cloudfront.net\/account_481\/Screenshot2018-10-10at1_58_52PM_21064a3907b1cad86e53e9905696e12c_800.png 1x\" media=\"(max-width: 768px)\"><\/source><source srcset=\"https:\/\/d2ijz6o5xay1xq.cloudfront.net\/account_481\/Screenshot2018-10-10at1_58_52PM_21064a3907b1cad86e53e9905696e12c_800.png 1x\" media=\"(min-width: 769px)\"><\/source><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/d2ijz6o5xay1xq.cloudfront.net\/account_481\/Screenshot2018-10-10at1_58_52PM_21064a3907b1cad86e53e9905696e12c_800.png\" alt=\"statistik om kvinnligt ledarskap inom tech\"><\/picture><\/figure>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Men det g\u00e5r \u00e4nnu l\u00e4ngre: genom att f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttra etnisk och k\u00f6nsm\u00e4ssig <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coachhub.com\/diversity-equity-and-inclusion\/\">diversitet och inkludering<\/a> i den amerikanska tekniska arbetsstyrkan kan det skapa mellan <strong>$470 miljarder och $570 miljarder<\/strong> i nytt v\u00e4rde f\u00f6r branschen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Det \u00e4r m\u00e5nga nollor. \ud83d\ude32<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Att g\u00e5 bortom siffrorna<\/h2>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">S\u00e5 varf\u00f6r ger just m\u00e5ngfald b\u00e4ttre resultat?<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"translation-block\">F\u00f6r likheter d\u00f6dar innovation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Att ha m\u00e5ngfald i hur dina team t\u00e4nker och l\u00f6ser problem ger h\u00f6gre framg\u00e5ng.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">B\u00e4ttre representation av marginaliserade grupper \u00e4r avg\u00f6rande f\u00f6r att komma fram till r\u00e4tt l\u00f6sningar p\u00e5 utmaningar, kreativt t\u00e4nkande och \u00f6vergripande kundframg\u00e5ngar.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">N\u00e4r teammedlemmarna \u00e4r alltf\u00f6r lika varandra kan saker missas eller f\u00f6rbises.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">L\u00e5t oss uttrycka det s\u00e5 h\u00e4r: team med m\u00e5ngfald vinner oftare och mer konsekvent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Att ha team med st\u00f6rre m\u00e5ngfald inneb\u00e4r dessutom att f\u00f6retaget tj\u00e4nar alla kunder, inte bara sig sj\u00e4lvt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">V\u00e4rlden \u00e4r fylld av m\u00e4nniskor med en uppsj\u00f6 av bakgrunder och perspektiv. F\u00f6r att kunna skapa och bygga en verksamhet som tj\u00e4nar alla beh\u00f6ver teamen lyssna p\u00e5 dem som har olika erfarenheter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Hur g\u00e5r vi vidare nu?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Det finns redan f\u00f6retag och statliga organisationer som arbetar f\u00f6r att \u00f6ka representationen i teknikbranschen - men det m\u00e5ste g\u00e5 l\u00e4ngre (och inte bara resultera i enkla kvoter).<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">F\u00f6r att \u00e5terg\u00e5 till Chengs <em>Brotopia<\/em>, f\u00f6resl\u00e5r hon:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Utn\u00e4mning av kvinnor till styrelser,<\/li>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">anst\u00e4lla fler kvinnliga del\u00e4gare<\/li>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">och anst\u00e4lla fler kvinnliga riskkapitalister.<\/li>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Detsamma b\u00f6r naturligtvis g\u00f6ras f\u00f6r alla marginaliserade grupper.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Men viktigast av allt: teknikindustrin m\u00e5ste sluta skylla p\u00e5 alla andra f\u00f6r problemet. \ud83d\ude15<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">I Silicon Valley har misslyckanden varit n\u00e5got som hyllats eftersom det kan hj\u00e4lpa dig att l\u00e4ra dig (och s\u00e5 sm\u00e5ningom lyckas).
