This also immediately explains why it\u2019s forte is extreme customizability (provided you pay a team of consultants to do that) and why it has positioned itself to be the one software vendor that offers a solution to all your business needs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Salesforce does still offer a solution to small businesses today, called Salesforce Essentials, a limited version of the full platform. If you don\u2019t like using different apps and integrating them (using tools like Zapier and native integrations), then HubSpot might be what you\u2019re looking for.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The flip side of the coin is that HubSpot\u2019s software is <strong>extremely expensive<\/strong>. Yes, it\u2019s small business CRM is free, but it\u2019s only comparable to the others in this list if you buy it together with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hubspot.com\/products\/sales\">Sales Hub<\/a>. While the free CRM was robust enough for basic tasks, unlocking the full potential of the platform required investing in multiple Hubs, each with its own hefty price tag. The company even uses the same way to structure its products, with a free CRM at the center and a series of \u201cbays\u201d around it (like the \u201chubs\u201d of HubSpot\u201d).<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The biggest pro of EngageBay is exactly that: you can get everything (and it\u2019s a lot of functionality) in one place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The free CRM itself of course does not come with a lot of functionality, so if you want something comparable to other CRMs in this list, you\u2019ll <strong>quickly find yourself upgrading<\/strong> to the paid plans. In that respect, the pricing also becomes quite comparable to most other products in this list (except of course for the significantly higher priced HubSpot and Salesforce products).<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The flip side of the coin here is that the interface is <strong>not the prettiest nor the smoothest and that some things do feel a little buggy<\/strong>, but it\u2019s a young and relatively cheap product that has built a lot of features, so this is definitely not abnormal or surprising.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">All in all, EngageBay\u2019s ratings on G2 and Google Play make it land in third place in this ranking. This <strong>integration<\/strong> between email automation and CRM is probably its main forte.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Setting up ActiveCampaign is not a light task and its software may become <strong>overwhelming<\/strong>, while the CRM aspect itself on the other hand <strong>will not be as feature rich<\/strong> compared to the other CRMs in this list.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">When people compare ActiveCampaign to Salesflare, which also offers automated emails and email sequences, my advice is usually simple: if you\u2019re an ecommerce company or B2C company, or you need very complex or very high volume email automation, ActiveCampaign is probably what you\u2019re looking for. If you\u2019re a B2B company with an active sales team and the need to automate more personal emails, then go with <a href=\"https:\/\/salesflare.com\">Salesflare<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Testing it out<\/h4>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Testing ActiveCampaign was a bit of a mixed bag. It has also managed to offer this range of functionality through an easier to use interface than its competitors\/predecessors from the same city (Chennai, India), Zoho.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The flip side here is that the software does feel <strong>quite bulky<\/strong> and that the functionality feels like its built too fast to be really well thought through. If <strong>complex<\/strong> software frustrates you, it probably isn\u2019t for you.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">If you\u2019re in for its most basic plan, the price-functionality ratio is comparable to the more normally priced small business CRMs in this list. The <strong>pricing however ramps up very quickly<\/strong> from there as you need more functionality (or more than 1 pipeline, 5 sequences, \u2026).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/salesflare.com\" class=\"translation-block\">Salesflare<\/a> doesn\u2019t often get compared to Freshworks CRM, but when it happens, it\u2019s people weighing getting something that their team will love to use, against something that checks off a few more of the boxes on their specs list.<\/p>\n<h4>Testing it out<\/h4>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Trying out Freshworks CRM, I was struck by the depth of features offered. The platform felt comprehensive, covering everything from lead management to sales pipelines. However, as I navigated through the system, it started to feel a bit bulky. The interface, while feature-rich, wasn\u2019t as intuitive as I\u2019d hoped, and I often found myself digging through menus to find what I needed. The software seemed to be built with larger teams in mind, which made it feel a bit over-engineered for a small business setup. And that\u2019s immediately its biggest strength.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The pinnacle of its offering is Zoho One, which gives you access to 40+ of its \u201cbusiness apps\u201d for $105\/user\/month (or $45 if you get it for ALL your employees). Talk about cheap!<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The flip side is that Zoho\u2019s products <strong>don\u2019t feel user friendly<\/strong>. While the engineering team does churn out a lot features for a low price, the user experience is generally lacking.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Still, if you can\u2019t resist a good deal, Zoho has a whole lot to offer you. Or, if you\u2019ve already tried Zoho and <strong>didn\u2019t love it<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/salesflare.com\">give Salesflare a try<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Testing it out<\/h4>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Testing Zoho CRM Plus, I was drawn to the value proposition of getting so many features for such a low price. The range of tools available was impressive, from CRM to analytics, but the user experience left much to be desired. It was founded in 2011 in Estonia as a counterreaction to enterprise CRMs like Salesforce, which are built more for enterprise needs than they are for <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.salesflare.com\/best-sales-management-software\">managing sales teams<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Pipedrive\u2019s power is its <strong>simple and well considered user experience<\/strong>, especially when it comes to its older functionality. It makes data input and keeping track of activities easier, albeit still very manual.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Its main weakness is that it <strong>has become a bit stale<\/strong>, with a more limited mobile app, lacking basic automation (e.g. of data input), a wonky <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.salesflare.com\/best-email-crm-integration\">email integration<\/a>, and a set of more recent functionality that is not as thoughtfully built anymore.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">At some point in time, we positioned <strong>Salesflare as \u201cPipedrive without the typing\u201d<\/strong> (check <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mxNsBGm5RTs\">this TechCrunch video<\/a> for instance). We did this because like Salesflare, Pipedrive is built for sales teams, is easy to use, and easy to set up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The main difference is that, unlike Pipedrive, <a href=\"https:\/\/salesflare.com\">Salesflare<\/a> was built from the ground up to automate your team\u2019s data input, which also makes it easy to keep it alive \/ up to date\u2026 so you can reap all the benefits you\u2019d expect to get from a CRM. Because, after all, <strong>a CRM is only useful if you keep using it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4>Testing it out<\/h4>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">When I tested Pipedrive, I appreciated the simplicity and focus on sales management. The user interface was clean, and the pipeline view made it easy to keep track of where each deal stood. However, as I continued using it, I noticed that while it was great for basic sales tasks, it lacked the automation and integration capabilities that other CRMs offered. The platform felt a bit outdated, and I often found myself wishing for more modern features, especially on the mobile app and email integration front.
