Waarom? En dan stelden ze dat tegenover de klantenrelaties die ze hadden bij hun eigen tech startup in die tijd, Exceptional.<\/p>\n<p id=\"42b5\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Ze deden hun hele bedrijf via internet. Ontmoetten hun klanten nauwelijks. Bouwden geen menselijke relaties op. Om menselijkheid terug te brengen in de internetbusiness. Vanuit de overtuiging dat relaties bedrijven beter maken.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"section section--body\">\n<div class=\"section-divider\">\n<hr class=\"section-divider\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section-content\">\n<div class=\"section-inner sectionLayout--insetColumn\">\n<h3 id=\"bf3a\" class=\"graf graf--h3 graf--leading\">Intercom is gebouwd voor specifieke \"klussen die moeten worden geklaard\".<\/h3>\n<p id=\"763a\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--h3 translation-block\">Een van de belangrijkste inzichten van de oprichters van Intercom was dat producten het opbouwen van relaties uit de weg moeten gaan.<\/p>\n<p id=\"fe99\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Producten worden ingehuurd om een specifieke klus te klaren. En ze moeten zo effici\u00ebnt en gericht mogelijk op dit doel worden gebouwd.<\/p>\n<p id=\"6eb4\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Veel bedrijven richten hun denken op klantpersona's. Het Intercom team zegt: persona's zijn cool, maar ze vertellen niet het hele verhaal. Ze zijn voor empathie, niet voor fris productdenken. \ud83d\udcad<\/p>\n<p id=\"8894\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Waar de jongens van Trello het hebben over het negeren van individuele feature requests zelf, en in plaats daarvan focussen op de pijnpunten in de workflow (meer daarover in <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--p-anchor\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.salesflare.com\/nl\/de-sleutels-tot-trello-ongelooflijke-groei-e7229c3fe2b9-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">de vorige aflevering over Trello<\/a>), brengt het Intercom team het \"<a href=\"https:\/\/railsware.com\/blog\/jobs-to-be-done-examples\/\">Jobs To Be Done<\/a>\" framework in.<\/p>\n<p id=\"84e3\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Ze richten zich op waarom mensen functies willen. In welke situatie, met welke motivatie, met welk doel.<\/p>\n<p id=\"7a5a\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Mensen zijn experts in hun probleem, niet in de oplossing. Het hele verhaal zo effici\u00ebnt en doelgericht mogelijk.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"section section--body\">\n<div class=\"section-divider\">\n<hr class=\"section-divider\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section-content\">\n<div class=\"section-inner sectionLayout--insetColumn\">\n<h3 id=\"fd45\" class=\"graf graf--h3 graf--leading\">Ontbundeling van het Intercom-product brengt focus<\/h3>\n<p id=\"8220\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--h3 translation-block\">In het begin was Intercom \u00e9\u00e9n grote monolithische oplossing.<\/p>\n<p id=\"5417\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Het team wilde \u00e9\u00e9n <a href=\"https:\/\/invgate.com\/guides\/help-desk-software\/\">ge\u00efntegreerde oplossing die een helpdesk<\/a>, e-mailing, live chat, marketingautomatisering en een <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.salesflare.com\/nl\/beste-software-voor-klantendatabase-2\">klantendatabase<\/a> omvat. De hele klantrelatie overkoepelend.<\/p>\n<p id=\"7ba9\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Het probleem was dat veel klanten Intercom alleen wilden inhuren voor \u00e9\u00e9n klus, misschien twee klussen, maar niet voor de hele shebang.<\/p>\n<p id=\"51ae\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Ze raakten ook in de war over wat Intercom was: is het een helpdesk? Is het een chat? Is het een e-mailplatform? \ud83e\udd14<\/p>\n<figure id=\"9d1e\" class=\"graf graf--figure graf-after--p\">\n<div class=\"aspectRatioPlaceholder is-locked\" style=\"max-width: 500px;max-height: 281px\"><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p id=\"95e1\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--figure translation-block\"><img class=\"size-full wp-image-58218 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.salesflare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/what-is-this.gif\" alt=\"zoey deschanel vraagt: &apos;wat is dit?&apos;\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--figure translation-block\">Het opsplitsen van Intercom in afzonderlijke - maar ge\u00efntegreerde - producten maakte een veel strakkere probleemoplossing mogelijk, zonder de visie van het faciliteren van de hele klantrelatie los te laten.<\/p>\n<p id=\"9715\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Het maakte alles veel gerichter: het product, de onboarding, de berichtgeving, de advertenties. \ud83d\ude0c<\/p>\n<p id=\"8b07\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Verschillende wegen werden gecre\u00eberd naar Intercom. En in de andere richting werden verschillende wegen gecre\u00eberd voor Intercom naar hun klanten.<\/p>\n<p id=\"6da3\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Intercom heeft in de loop der tijd veel gegoocheld met deze producten. Pas sinds het Salesflare team is begonnen met Intercom, zijn producten samengevoegd, hernoemd en verschillende keren verplaatst.<\/p>\n<p id=\"736b\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p graf--trailing translation-block\">De productnaamgeving was historisch heel duidelijk over de precieze taak die elk product zou uitvoeren, met namen als <em class=\"markup--em markup--p-em\">Acquire<\/em>, <em class=\"markup--em markup--p-em\">Engage<\/em>, <em class=\"markup--em markup--p-em\">Respond<\/em>, en <em class=\"markup--em markup--p-em\">Educate<\/em>. De recente naamgeving <em class=\"markup--em markup--p-em\">Berichten<\/em>, <em class=\"markup--em markup--p-em\">Artikelen<\/em>, en <em class=\"markup--em markup--p-em\">Inbox<\/em> neemt hier afstand van en ruilt duidelijkheid over de uit te voeren taak in voor pure eenvoud.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"section section--body\">\n<div class=\"section-divider\">\n<hr class=\"section-divider\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section-content\">\n<div class=\"section-inner sectionLayout--insetColumn\">\n<h3 id=\"e44b\" class=\"graf graf--h3 graf--leading\">Intercom blijft zijn kern opnieuw uitvinden<\/h3>\n<p id=\"d46a\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--h3 translation-block\">In tegenstelling tot veel andere producten, blijft Intercom zich bewust richten op de kernfunctionaliteit. Niet op het toevoegen van leuke nieuwe foefjes, maar op het beter maken van het product. \ud83d\udd27<\/p>\n<p id=\"51b2\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Het team gelooft dat het meer waard is om te werken aan het verbeteren van de kernfunctionaliteit, dan om te werken aan randfunctionaliteit, of zelfs om nieuwe functionaliteit toe te voegen.<\/p>\n<p id=\"c963\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Zij geloven dat je grootsheid bereikt in 1000 kleine stapjes en dat je vooruitgang boekt door honderden kleine releases die waarde toevoegen aan klanten.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"d4bd\" class=\"graf graf--figure graf-after--p\">\n<div class=\"aspectRatioPlaceholder is-locked\" style=\"max-width: 480px;max-height: 269px\"><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p id=\"73af\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--figure translation-block\"><img class=\"size-full wp-image-58345 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.salesflare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/baby-steps.gif\" alt=\"baby steps\" width=\"480\" height=\"269\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--figure translation-block\">Om een geweldig en gebruiksvriendelijk product te maken, moet je alle onnodige complexiteit wegnemen, zodat elke gebruiker zijn problemen zo effici\u00ebnt mogelijk kan oplossen. Het gaat erom te kijken naar het kleinst mogelijke deel van de workflow waar je product waarde levert en dat te verbeteren.<\/p>\n<p id=\"a0df\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Maar het gaat ook om het opnieuw uitvinden van complete ervaringen. Het team heroverweegt vaak hoe het product is ingedeeld, <a href=\"https:\/\/userpilot.com\/blog\/user-onboarding-best-practices\/\">hoe het onboarden van klanten werkt<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"0745\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Een van de bekendste veranderingen die Intercom in zijn geschiedenis heeft doorgevoerd, is het mogelijk maken om het product te gebruiken zonder de code op je website te installeren.<\/p>\n<p id=\"fc8d\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Ze bedachten dat als hun platform ook kon worden gebruikt als een <a href=\"https:\/\/www.notifyvisitors.com\/blog\/best-email-marketing-platforms\/\">emailmarketingplatform<\/a>, waarom dan geen parallelle onboarding maken waarvoor je alleen een .csv-bestand met klantgegevens hoeft te importeren. Importeren, filteren en e-mails versturen.<\/p>\n<p id=\"0e1a\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Conversie gepiekt door 40%. \ud83d\ude32<\/p>\n<figure id=\"14d7\" class=\"graf graf--figure graf-after--p\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--figure graf--trailing translation-block\"><img class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-58722\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.salesflare.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/its-working-4.gif\" width=\"368\" height=\"152\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--figure graf--trailing translation-block\">Toch is dit een van die legendarische succesmomenten waar iedereen van droomt. De realiteit is dat, ook voor Intercom, het grootste deel van het succes komt door de cumulatie van kleine verbeteringen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"section section--body\">\n<div class=\"section-divider\">\n<hr class=\"section-divider\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section-content\">\n<div class=\"section-inner sectionLayout--insetColumn\">\n<h3 id=\"3f36\" class=\"graf graf--h3 graf--leading\">Intercom is vastbesloten om relevant te blijven<\/h3>\n<p id=\"bb16\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--h3 translation-block\">Tijdens mijn recente koffie met Intercom mede-oprichter Des Traynor (binnenkort te zien op <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--p-anchor\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.salesflare.com\/nl\/founder-coffee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Founder Coffee<\/a>), vertelde Des dat hij zichzelf nog steeds ziet werken bij Intercom over 10-20 jaar.<\/p>\n<p id=\"00da\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Het Intercom team bouwt aan hun bedrijf, product en merk voor de lange termijn. Zonder te weten wat de toekomst zal brengen, zijn ze vastbesloten om relevant te blijven. \ud83d\udcaa<\/p>\n<p id=\"6465\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Intercom werkt aan het verbeteren van de klantenbinding voor internetbedrijven met een gecentraliseerd platform waarin messaging centraal staat, en ik denk dat we het daar allemaal wel over eens zijn:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"postList\">\n<li id=\"f19a\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--p translation-block\">Klantenloyaliteit en menselijke relaties zijn tijdloos<\/li>\n<li id=\"cf21\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li translation-block\">Het internet is een blijvertje en het aantal internetbedrijven zal alleen maar toenemen<\/li>\n<li id=\"6f78\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li translation-block\">Mensen blijven genieten van alles op \u00e9\u00e9n plek<\/li>\n<li id=\"bf9b\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li translation-block\">Berichten vervangen e-mail (hoewel dat waarschijnlijk meer iets tijdelijks is)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"c574\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--li translation-block\">En zelfs als de communicatiemedia sneller veranderen, zullen de \"Jobs To Be Done\" nog veel langer blijven bestaan.<\/p>\n<p id=\"c222\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Intercom zal zijn strategie niet volledig veranderen vanwege smartwatches, spraakopdrachten, machine learning, gamification of big data. Het zal misschien gebruik maken van deze technologie\u00ebn, maar het zal zijn bedrijf niet opbouwen rond een hype.<\/p>\n<p id=\"1cbd\" class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p translation-block\">Het team vergelijkt hun product graag met faxapparaten. Faxapparaten waren heel nuttig in een heel specifieke periode.
